You have no doubt seen the many Dove commercials that talk about real women in all their beauty and flaws. I’ve been interested in the stories of the women on the ad campaign site. They talk about self esteem, balancing life and your dreams, being an agent of change and defining beauty on your terms.
One of the questions that struck me was how to define inner beauty. Beauty is supposed to be in the eye of the beholder, but what is beauty when you look from the inside out? My personal definition of inner beauty is being at peace with who you are, where you are and who and where you want to be in the future. Inner beauty is recognizing that you have change to make but you are great the way God created you. Inner beauty is accepting that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God and He alone defines your worth; not your job, your marital status, your children or your position in life. And inner beauty is realizing that you don’t have to compete with anyone else because you are the only you on the face of the entire earth.
You might have different ways to define inner beauty and we at Single Ladies Soundoff would love to hear them! Comment to tell us your definition of inner beauty. In the meantime, check out the definitions on Dove.com!
